Warranty Information

Spotters Eyewear is guaranteed against defects in workmanship and materials for 24 months from date of purchase.

General Warranty

Spotters Eyewear is guaranteed against defects in workmanship and materials for 24 months from date of purchase. This warranty excludes accidental damage and broken/cracked lenses. The sunglasses must also have been looked after in accordance with Spotters Care Instructions.

Your warranty is only valid with a proof of purchase from an authorised Spotters dealer.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Your warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, scratched, broken or missing lenses or lost screws. Any alterations to the eyewear will void your warranty.

Eyewear that has been bent out of alignment, and any damage that may occur as a result, is not covered by your warranty.

The manufacturer reserves the right to repair or replace, in part or in full, eyewear returned for warranty or repair. Warranty claims and other repairs are at the complete discretion of the manufacturer.

Photochromic Warranty

For eyewear fitted with the Penetrator or Halide Lenses only

Spotters’ Photochromic molecules are embedded between layers of distortion free, scratch resistant glass. As a result, we guarantee the photochromic properties of the Penetrator and Halide lenses will last the life of your eyewear.

What does this mean? We guarantee that your Penetrator or Halide lenses will continue to automatically adjust to prevailing light conditions for as long as you can still wear your eyewear. Please note this warranty applies only to the photochromic properties of the lens, and does not cover scratched, broken or lost lenses. The sunglasses must have been looked after in accordance with Spotters Care Instructions.

If the photochromic properties of your Penetrator or Halide lenses cease to function, we will replace your lenses free of charge.

Warranty Claims

  • Fill in the Service Request form on this website, including your name and contact details.  Alternatively, you can just write us a short note outlining the issue with your eyewear and include your contact details.

  • Package your eyewear (inside its protective case) in a sturdy box with padding.  All shipping costs are the responsibility of the eyewear owner.

We recommend sending your eyewear via Express Post, or using a traceable delivery service.

The manufacturer reserves the right to repair or replace, in part or in full, eyewear returned for warranty or repair. Warranty claims and other repairs are at the complete discretion of the manufacturer.

Spotters Service Centre

Are you having an issue with your eyewear that you need us to help with? If your eyewear has suffered an accident, don’t stress! All you need to do is get in touch!

Spare Parts

If you have an issue with temple coatings, decals or screws, spare parts are available!  All you need to do is give us a call.  If parts are available, we will send them to you as soon as possible.

Warranty Claims

If you return your eyewear to your place of purchase for a warranty claim, the item must be sent back to us for assessment before we can repair or replace it.  Why?  We pride ourselves on having some of the highest and most stringent quality control processes in the industry.  All of our eyewear is subject to rigorous developmental testing and comprehensive field testing before release to market as well as ongoing quality control in house.  If there is a problem with any of our eyewear, from the smallest screw to the frame coating or general fit, we need to know about it!  In order to investigate any issues, we need the eyewear so we can check it out.  We also have the facilities to heat and manipulate frames and equipment to hand edge lenses if required. Plus, the risk of fitting lenses to new frames is entirely ours – if we damage the frames or lenses in our service centre, we will replace them at no charge.

Accidental Damage

If your eyewear has suffered an accident, don’t stress! We can repair or replace parts as necessary for a nominal fee. All of our pricing is consistent and transparent and will be quoted to you upon receipt of your damaged eyewear. Unfortunately we can’t give you a final quote until we’ve seen your eyewear.

Our pricing is as follows:

Glass lenses:

Spotters offer an accidental damage replacement deal – If you break or require 2x new glass lenses, we will supply you with a frame at no charge. The cost of two glass lenses is $210 Including GST & postage.

If we can colour match your existing lens, the cost of 1x replacement glass lens will be $136 including GST & postage.

Please note that Spotters do need to colour match your existing lens to comply with Australian Standards, and this isn’t always possible. If you would like to know if we can colour match your lens, please send them into us.

CR-39 lenses:

Spotters offer an accidental damage replacement deal – If you break or require 2x new CR-39 lenses, we will supply you with a frame at no charge. The cost of two CR-39 lenses is $165 Including GST & postage.

Your damaged sunglasses will not be returned if you take up our replacement deal.

Australian Standards Compliance

All sunglasses sold in Australia must comply with Australian Standards (AS/NZS 1067:2003).  When it comes to replacing sunglass lenses, this legislation requires us to precisely colour match all of our lenses to comply with the standard.  If you phone us for a service quote, we will quote your lenses in pairs to ensure compliance with the Standards requirements.  If we replace both sunglass lenses, we will also replace your frame at no charge, so you’ll end up with a brand new pair of sunglasses for the cost of two new lenses.

How Long Does It Take?

We try to make our service process as painless as possible.  For warranty services, we will get the serviced eyewear out by Express Post within 5 business days.  For non-warranty servicing requirements, we will endeavour to quote you within 2 business days of receipt of the eyewear.  Upon quote approval, we will get the serviced eyewear out by Express Post within 5 business days.
